Recycling of lithium batteries

Responsibility, take-back and environmentally sound disposal

Lithium batteries contain valuable raw materials, but are subject to special legal requirements regarding collection, take-back and recycling .

As a manufacturer and supplier of machines with lithium batteries, we comply with our obligations under the EU WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) , the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) and the Battery Act (BattG) .

Separate collection

Do not dispose of via household waste.

Lithium batteries must not be disposed of with household or commercial waste. They are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin and are subject to separate collection. Batteries must be properly taken back and recycled.

Resource conservation through

The collected lithium batteries are sent for certified recycling. Valuable materials such as lithium, copper, aluminum, iron, and phosphates are recovered and reintroduced into the raw material cycle.


We collaborate with tozero GmbH for the recycling of lithium batteries. tozero is a specialized company for the industrial recycling of lithium-ion batteries and enables the recovery of key raw materials from used battery systems. Further information is available at:

Commercial use

Take-back of lithium batteries

For commercial customers, we offer legally compliant take-back of lithium batteries from our machines or support in organizing proper disposal through approved waste management companies.

The return will be processed as follows:

  • in accordance with applicable transport and safety regulations,
  • taking into account the battery chemistry (e.g. LiFePO₄),
  • exclusively through authorized bodies.

Commercial users are required to:

  • to separately record lithium batteries,
  • to avoid improper storage or disposal,
  • Do not damage, open, or disassemble batteries,
  • to comply with national and European disposal and transport regulations.

Please contact us before returning the item to coordinate the next steps.
