MONA Island 60 emergency power storage unit

MONA Island 60 is the new modular energy storage solution from MONA Motors – developed for agricultural businesses, commercial enterprises and sustainable energy supply systems.

With state-of-the-art lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO₄) , an integrated hybrid inverter and the grid-forming emergency power function “Black Start”, the storage system offers maximum efficiency and safety, completely without a foundation and with plug & play installation.

The MONA Island 60 offers a usable storage capacity of 61.44 kWh and a charging and discharging capacity of up to 60 kilowatts. Thanks to its modular design, the capacity can be flexibly expanded from 10 to 60 kilowatt hours and allows scaling up to 200 kWh per inverter . This makes the system suitable for both smaller businesses and larger energy projects.

A key feature of the MONA Island is its integrated emergency power capability with a so-called "black start" function . In the event of a power outage, the storage system can create its own island grid and autonomously supply important consumers with energy . This ensures continued operation even during grid outages.

Thanks to its integrated hybrid inverter, the MONA Island 60 can be used both in grid-connected operation and in stand-alone mode . Combined with a photovoltaic system, excess solar power can be stored and accessed as needed, significantly increasing self-consumption and reducing energy costs in the long term. The storage system operates completely emission-free and, with its IP65 protection rating, is also designed for outdoor use.
