MONA Island 60 emergency power storage unit

MONA Island 60 is the new modular energy storage solution from MONA Motors – developed for agricultural businesses, commercial enterprises, and sustainable energy supply systems.

Featuring state-of-the-art Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) technology, an integrated hybrid inverter, and grid-forming "Black Start" emergency power function, the storage unit offers maximum efficiency and security, with no foundation needed and plug & play installation.

The MONA Island 60 offers a usable storage capacity of 61.44 kWh and a charge and discharge power of up to 50 kilowatts. Thanks to its modular design, the capacity can be flexibly expanded from 10 to 60 kilowatt-hours and allows scaling up to 200 kWh per inverter. This makes the system suitable for both smaller businesses and larger energy projects.

A key feature of the MONA Island is the integrated emergency power capability with a so-called "Black-Start" function. In the event of a power outage, the storage unit can create its own island grid and autonomously supply essential consumers with energy. This ensures that operations remain functional even during grid outages.

Thanks to the integrated hybrid inverter, MONA Island 60 can be used in both grid-parallel operation and island operation. In combination with a photovoltaic system, excess solar power can be temporarily stored and retrieved as needed, significantly increasing self-consumption rates and reducing energy costs in the long term. The storage unit operates completely emission-free and, with its IP65 protection class, is also designed for outdoor use.
