Information Event: Battery Storage & Energy Trading for Farmers

The information event "Battery Storage: Self-Consumption & Trading Now Possible?" will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2 PM, together with Neyer Landtechnik and Mark Kugel from SONNTAG Energy in Bad Waldsee-Mennisweiler.

The presentation will explain:

  • how farms can optimally use their own electricity
  • the role battery storage plays in this
  • the opportunities arising from electricity trading (Energy Trading)

Especially for agricultural businesses with photovoltaic systems, the topic of energy storage and marketing is becoming increasingly important.

📅 Date: March 21, 2026, 2 PM
📍 Location: Neyer Landtechnik, Roßberger Str. 50, 88339 Bad Waldsee

We look forward to your visit!

New Revenue Stream with Energy Trading

For a long time, battery storage was primarily a tool for increased self-consumption.
This is now changing: attractive storage prices, new regulations, and strong price fluctuations in the electricity market are making energy trading interesting for agricultural businesses as well.

The Lindau-based company SONNTAG Energy demonstrated how this works at the end of 2025: with the
first pure energy trading storage in low-voltage, specifically designed for farmers.

Affordable storage prices and a new legal situation are making energy trading
with battery storage exciting for farmers as well. SONNTAG Energy is showing with
a pilot project in Kressbronn how a storage unit can earn money for farmers.
The principle is simple: the storage charges automatically when electricity is cheap (often when there is a lot of PV electricity in the grid), and discharges when electricity is expensive (often in the evening or during scarcity). This is done via professional marketers and AI algorithms.

MONA Island Energy Storage for Professional Farmers

The MONA Island 233 is a powerful battery storage system with a capacity of 233 kWh and a maximum output of 105 kW. The system can be used, for example, for:

  • Optimizing self-consumption of photovoltaics
  • Peak load management
  • Emergency power supply
  • Energy management on agricultural farms

The storage units are based on lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO₄) and are modularly scalable.
